Ingredients:

  • Filet, Sirloin, or similar steak
  • Butter
  • Tin Foil
  • Seasoning/Pepper

Step 1: Prepare the Steaks

Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and have seasoning and butter at the ready. Season and pepper both sides of the steaks to the desired level. Spread butter on both sides of the steak. Don’t worry if it’s perfectly spread; just get some butter on there.

Cover the steaks and let sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes. This will help the steaks cook evenly.

Step 2: Heat the Grill

Heat the grill up (either gas or pallets) on high heat. Let the grill heat up for 3-5 minutes.

Step 3: Cook the Steaks

Place the steaks directly on the grill grates. After a minute or so gently slide the steak to keep it from getting stuck to the grates.

For medium doneness, cook for 6-8 minutes on each side.

Tips:

1) Don’t press on the steaks; simply let them sit and cook.

2) Gently slide steaks after a few minutes to avoid them getting stuck to the grates.

Step 4: Remove & Rest

Remove steaks when they reach the desired doneness. Place steaks on a plate and season again. Loosely cover the steaks with tin foil and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Step 5: Eat & Enjoy!

Don’t worry if you didn’t get it perfect the first time! Grilling the perfect steak can take a few tries.
